What I Did On My Summer Vacations
Ok,...I've been kicking around ideas for a web page but I was having trouble coming up with a scheme. It was my wife that inadvertently gave me the idea for this page. Her suggestion was to do a page that featured my photography work. I'm an amateur photographer at best but people have told me that my shots are really quite good. All the images below are click able to be viewed full size. For those of you that might find interest in this,....all these photos were shot with a very old [1980] Nikon EM 35 mm SLR using  Nikon 50 mm and 100 mm lens ,.......oh and a "cheapo deluxe" Vivitar 70-150 mm zoom lens.  If you like what you see here feel free to download and save any of the images. I've purposely sized all the horizontal shots to 800x600 so they make for easy wall papers. If you have trouble converting them to .bmp format for use as Windows wallpaper please email and I'll convert them for you. I know this page is extremely weak from a html coding stand point but it's been quite a while since I first scratched a page upon the cave walls of the internet and a lot has changed.

These shots were taken in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Most of the waterfalls are in "The Flume" which is a naturally formed gorge.

I don't know what happened to the image [above left] but I had already uploaded it before I realized the obvious flaw at the bottom, kinda looks like mist rising up doesn't it. The image [above right] was taken at the top of the gorge, after hiking through the gorge we picked up a brochure there is a photo in the brochure of this particular fall that looks identical to the one I shot.

Ok,..the image [above left] is a fairly good representation of the gorge itself. If you look at the walkway on the left you start to think that it's going downhill when in fact it's actually going uphill. If you look at the flow of the water it's obviously flowing towards you. The image above left is unremarkable other than the pool that the fall drops in to is very enticing. Swimming is unfortunately not allowed. Bummer.

Look closely on the bridge and you'll see my wife's hand around my son's waist.
That's his head above the top rail and her hand above the second rail. As a rule I try not
to include people in my photos unless they are in some way contributing to the overall composition.

The image [above left] is not in the Flume gorge this is one of two cascades that
you can view from Rt.304. The image [above right] is part of the gorge hike and again
that pool that the little fall drops into was 100' in diameter and approximately
20' deep with a 70' sheer rock cliff on the right hand side just out of the frame.

If you've just stumbled upon this page it was by pure chance becuase it's still under construction and I haven't told a soul about it yet,...so no critiques until it's done.
